2016 SAINT LUCIA PANORAMA CHAMPIONS
NEW PLANS
NEW PANS

RAISING FUNDS TO PURCHASE
NEW INSTRUMENTS AND TAKE
OUR COMMUNITY PROJECT
TO NEW HEIGHTS

This year, 2016, the Laborie Steel Pan Project will be 10 years old, but many of the instruments we use are now too old, and they need to be replaced.

Meanwhile, we want to give as many of our members as possible the opportunity to attend master classes and workshops, including summer programmes in Trinidad, and Andy Narell will be offering educational programmes that will bring pan players from all over the world to Laborie to study steel band music and experience this village and its people.

Starting with a private donation, we have started a campaign. Thanks to the joint efforts of Wilrock, Gill’s Pan Shop in Trinidad, Anita Bonan, Andy Narell, tuner Glenn Rowsey and Labowi Promotions, we will replace two 6-bass, two tenor bass, two triple guitars, two double guitars, and we will add one more pair of double seconds. We also hope to purchase additional percussion instruments.

So far, US$5,000 have been raised, and we need another US$7,500 to finish the project . Donations will be managed to Labowi Promotions, and will be acknowledged.

Pledges can be sent :

  • by cheque in EC$ made payable to Labowi Promotions and sent to P.O.Box 16, Laborie, Saint Lucia
  • by transfer or deposit to account 98435 at the Laborie Cooperative Credit Union
